2010 Predicting

It’s that time again- time for New Year’s Resolutions! Right, as though we were in control. You know though, we do have some say in our life, not one hundred percent but more than we tap in to. Few people will recognize the author of this quote- “”The more precisely the POSITION is determined, the less precisely the MOMENTUM is known”.

The author is Werner Heisenberg (1901 – 1976) one of the greatest physicists of the twentieth century.

He is best known as a founder of quantum mechanics, the new physics of the atomic world, and especially for the uncertainty principle in quantum theory. Anyone who is attuned to physics knows about the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle. Many people are still living under antiquated and out-dated laws and principles. The Newtonian world of physics has been upgraded- for those that want truth.

We do not live in a mechanistic and deterministic world where laws governing life are set- in advance!

We are co-creators with the world and our 2010 predictions are needful because our fate isn’t set in concrete, and yet we’re not totally in control. We can make some wise predictions based on trends and trajectory movements; however, there are surprises both from human doing and nature’s events. In other words as the quantum physicist says, we’re living within “waves of possibilities”. Choose!

But, having chosen isn’t a guarantee, but a good bet!

I like the words of Duane Elgin who writes, “We are playing jazz together. The world is a collective improvisation, and we have the creative freedom to transcend the habits of nature. Everything that exists contributes to the overall cosmic web at each moment, whether it is conscious of its participation of not.” So, make your predictions, decide where you want to go and when, but don’t get too married to the proposals and propositions.

We do live in a world of surprises!  Happy New Year!

As a spiritual-futurist, I have a BA degree majoring in history. One cannot know the future without knowing the past which holds clues to what is on the horizon. The world is in such a rapid expansion of knowledge that we are close to entering a tipping point that will forever change earth as we know it.
